If I want to host a minecraft , world of warcraft or runescape or Lineage 2 server ? which host is best for dedicated servers with a really great ddos protection?

Definitely try out OVH.com. They have game servers with DDOS protection.

I recommend using Vultr (VPS) and hosting it off of Ubuntu 14.04
