Can a watermark be applied to images that have already been sent? No.

It depends on what it will be. Can a watermark be added to any position on the image? No.

It will be added in the lower right corner.

Will a watermark be added to thumbnails (if available)? Yes.

With this plugin you can easily add a watermark to every uploaded image via upload form.
